School Day, What a Difference a Year Makes!
What a difference a year makes! My daughter started 1st Grade without incidence.
I say that because last year 5 days before she was supposed to start Kindergarten, my oldest daughter broke her right (writing) arm. It was a compound fracture (the bone came out, yuck!) and she dislocated her elbow. That meant surgery and 3 days at the hospital.
I had to attend the meet the teacher night, alone. It was not the way I had envisioned Kindergarten to be for her. As parents, we always try to make everything perfect for our children. This was not perfect.
She was amazing on her first day, although pretty tired when she got home. She adapted, and learned to write with her left hand, and dresses (for my tom boy) were very helpful at bathroom time.
This year, everything was easy. I am hoping it stays that way!
Do you have any similar experiences with your children?
I am an interior designer, wife and mother and I enjoy making children's decor, home decor and gifts. I love working with patterned paper, pairing colorful papers together, coordinating ribbon and embellishments. This blog is to share fun and useful tips and hopefully bring joy in your day.
